Eliot Sherman holds a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. His research focuses on inequality in the workplace, primarily with respect to gender. His work looking at whether female managers influence the wage gap between their male and female subordinates was published in the American Journal of Sociology. Other projects investigate the effects of remote working on job performance and work-family conflict; the extent to which bureaucracy in organisations helps or hinders women's career advancement; and whether women's careers improve when their husbands perform an increased share of childcare. He is actively seeking firms with which to collaborate on research.
